Vivian hardly looked up, having heard giggling and footsteps down the hallway. The sound of his voice slowly brought her gaze up and a slow smile spread across her lips.
"Hi," she mumbled, pulling herself out of her artist's daze and tucking her pencil behind her ear. "No, sorry. I -- wasn't paying attention to be honest."
And still, her roommate had not checked in, leaving a depressingly lonely half of the bedroom. Not that Vivian minded much, as she had always been a lone wolf. Sitting up, she offered him a tiny smile in greeting.
